Spain offers a lot of interesting and diferent ways to enjoy this beautiful country. It has got many places to visit such as exeptional beachs, mountains where you can practice many sports, and a huge variety of natural landscapes. It is chosen by a big number of tourists that are interested in visiting Spain because of their necessity to relax. It is a perfect place for those who want to have a great time, spending an afternoon enjoying a lovely view or having fun with some friends in a popular disco. Spain is well known for giving place to different kind of festivals. This is another reason that tourists take into account when they think in their holydays. There is a large variety of them, from cultural festivities to film festivals. There are many tourists who are attracted by the wide range of activities that take place in Spain, because it combines the facilities that offers the country, such as visiting museums, as well as knowing the vast history of Spain, and learning about its heritage and costumes.
It is a well known fact that the mayority of people, chose living in urban centres. It has been during lately years an exodus from rural areas to cities. Despite the great amount of population who still live in rural locations, much of them preffer arriving to cities looking forward for a new job in an industry. On the other hand, Spain presents a large variety of ethnic groups which have been living in the country during large periods of time. These gruops, are for instance, catalan, galicians and basques. The population growth is owed to the immigration effect. It has became important since 1985 when the government got interested in the inclusion of immigrants, which would take the low-status jobs replacing spanish people. The problem was that opening the doors to immigrants, also brought a lot of illegal people, who had legal matters with the law in Spain. It has been a decrease in fertility rates; since 1995 the average of marriages has went down, this has to be with the rol that occupy women nowadays in Spain. Lately, many of them have entered in workforce, this is another reason and position that has taken place recently. A primary feature of the culture in Spain is that it is a mixture of diferent cultures, that have transformed it into what we know nowadays. The most popular traditions in Spain are Bullfights and Flamenco. Both are an important part of the culture of this country. Flamenco is from the south and it is a musical tradition. Meanwhile, bullfights are very popular, specially during the “Sanfermines in Pamplona”. The main religion in Spain is the Roman catholism, that is followed by a number of persons that define themselves as agnostic or atheist. However, being aware of the immigration fact, there has been another incorporation of religion that is the islam. Spain has gave place to very important characters. One of them is Cervantes, who wrote, by far, one of the most important book: Don quijote; which is considered the first modern novel in the history of human being. There is a great variety of many artists that were born in Spain, such as the painter Joan Miro, Dalí, or the famous composer Isaac Albeniz who wrote many of his suites inspirated in his own country. Spain has different types of dishes to enjoy. They are based, specially in the sea food. This is because, the geographic feature of the country which is surrounded by beautiful coasts. The most popular dish is Paella, which is full of shellfish and rice.
The integration of the country to the European union, has brought spain a rise in its economy. The most important aspects in which the economy of Spain is able to expand are: tourism, agriculture, and industry. The first one, has increased aproximately during 40s and have not stopped since then. It brings the country an imporant part of its income. The agriculture is not so well developed, but compared to other european countries, it occupies a better position. On the other hand, the industry of spain is supported by foreign investment. Lately, Spain had to face up some economical problems, that made the country entering in recession. The considerable rise of unemployment during 2009, has passed the normal average of the other europeans countries.
Madrid is the capital of Spain and it is full of important places to visit such as “Museo del Prado”, and “Palacio Real”. It is also, full of discos and a large variety of restaurants where you can enjoy a tasty dinner. Another important place to visit is Barcelona, located in Cataluña, it is full of cultural wealth, because it has been the place where Gaudí and Miró, made a great number of their artistic works. It is a magnificent city because of its arquitecture, mainly made by Antoni Gaudí. If you go to Barcelona, you certainly will have to visit “La sagrada familia”, and enormous temple that has been uder construction since 1882. A very antique place to visit and enjoy is “the Altamira caves”, located near the city of Santander. They are famous because they are considered the first place where prehistoric human beings made drawings and paints. Segovia is another interesting city to visit. It is situated in the province of “Castilla and Leon”, it is really fascinating because it has an aqueduct that has around 2000 years of old. There is a lovely city you must visit, it is called Toledo and it is located in the central part in Spain. Toledo is known as the city of three cultures, for being poblated by jews, arabians and christians. It has an antique arquitecture and narrow streets that make this city unique and interesting.
During the past few years, spain has been a medical tourism destination, due to the low costs of the treatment, an the excellent quality of them. These fact has attracted many tourists from all around the world. Spain has an infrastructure that allows the country giving a perfect care to their patiences.
